Energy Micro strengthen its board of directors

Energy Micro, the provider of the world’s most energy efficient microcontrollers, strengthen its board of directors

Adds two executive level international semiconductor veterans

Oslo, Norway, November 19, 2009 – Just two weeks after the successful launch of the ultra low energy 32-bit EFM®32 Gecko microcontroller family, Energy Micro® added two new members to its board of directors, Mr. Daniel Artusi and Mr. Daniel Hoste. Both of them with extensive executive level experience from leading semiconductor companies.

"Once again we're proud to announce thrilling news from Energy Micro", said Geir Forre, founder and CEO. "Our new board members are not only experienced leaders from the semiconductor industry, but also share our vision and passion for new and innovative energy efficient semiconductors".

Dan Artusi has held several leading positions throughout his 32 years career in the semiconductor industry. Dan's resume includes most recently the position as President and CEO at Conexant Systems, President and CEO at Silicon Laboratories, and many years as VP and GM at Motorola Semiconductors.

"I am very enthusiastic about joining Energy Micro. Although throughout my long career in the semiconductor industry I have seen many exciting developments in microcontrollers, the new ultra low power concept from Energy Micro is truly revolutionary and marks a significant milestone for the industry", says Dan Artusi. "It comes at a time when energy efficiency and very long life battery operation are crucial for embedded designs. From the first time I heard about Energy Micro's plans, their team of innovators and their product roadmap I knew this was the place to be part of."

Daniel Hoste has over 40 years in the high tech industry, and Daniel has developed an extensive experience in microcontrollers as well as in sales and marketing. Most recently, Daniel was President and CEO of Tundra Semiconductor, based in Canada, after being the VP and GM of the 8 and 16-bit microcontroller division of Freescale Semiconductor.

"As soon as I have met with the Energy Micro team and Geir, I was very impressed by the enthusiasm and creativity of the group, as proven by the recent announcement of their first product platform, EFM32", says new Energy Micro board member Daniel Hoste. "I am really excited to join the board and to contribute to shaping the future of Energy Micro and to extend their contribution to a greener world with new very low power innovations."

Geir Forre concludes, "I am excited to see both Dan and Daniel joining our board and I look forward to use their wisdom and experience to secure and accelerate the pace of development of Energy Micro".
