Energy Micro named double Elektra finalist

Oslo, Norway, September 27th, 2010 – Energy Micro, the energy friendly microcontroller company, has been named as a finalist in the annual Elektra Awards in two categories. Energy Micro is a Start-up of the Year finalist, while its low power EFM32 Gecko Cortex-M3 based microcontroller is a finalist in the Digital Semiconductor Product of the Year.

The finalists in sixteen Elektra 2010 award categories have been selected by an independent panel of industry judges, with the winners being announced at an Elektra Awards Dinner and Christmas Party taking place on Thursday 9th December at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.

A well-established highpoint of the electronics industry calendar, the Elektra Awards recognise the achievements of individuals and companies throughout Europe. They are designed to promote best practice in key areas including, innovation, and sales growth and employee motivation.

Energy Micro President and CEO Geir Førre said: “To be named a finalist in the Elektra Awards less than a year after our launch is really pleasing, to be named a finalist in two categories is a tremendous achievement for such a young company and is a direct reflection of the hard work and innovative thinking of the whole Energy Micro team.”
