POR - Power On Reset

What?

The Power-on Reset is available in Energy Mode 0 to Energy Mode 4 and monitors the input supply voltage and signals when appropriate operating voltage has been reached.

Why?

When the EFM32 microcontrollers is powered on, the POR monitors the supplied, external voltage. The POR ensures that the microcontroller has a correct start-up state.

How?

The POR and the BOD use exceptionally low power while monitoring the applied power. The POR circuit ensures that reset is asserted until the device have a stable supply voltage. It also sets the cause of reset in the Reset Cause register, for use by software.
