VREG - Voltage Regulator

What?

The Voltage Regulator is available in Energy Mode 0 to Energy Mode 3 and all EFM32 microcontrollers feature the on-chip VREG which turns the supplied voltage into correct internal power supply during operation.

Why?

With the on-chip VREG it is easy to power the EFM32 microcontrollers. The EFM32 MCUs only need a single power supply in the range 1.8 to 3.8 volts.

How?

Independent of the supplied voltage range from 1.8V to 3.8V, the on-chip regulator generates all the necessary voltages for operating EFM32 correctly. In the low energy modes the Voltage Regulator may be disabled.
